A presentation change can alter the parcel
A new gift box may improve the unboxing experience while changing the dimensions of the shipped order. fulfillmentyx’s packaging workflow uses an approved trial pack to connect the creative brief with the warehouse and transport plan.
The review starts with the full order configuration, including accessories, inserts, protection and the outer shipping carton. Measuring only the retail box leaves part of the shipping load out of the discussion.
Approve the assembly as well as the materials
The sample should show how the product sits, where an insert goes and how the parcel is closed. Where several pack types are used, the SKU or order rule needs to identify which version applies.
Materials should be counted alongside the products they support. An order may have saleable stock available and still be unable to follow the approved presentation because the correct sleeve or insert has run out.
Keep the final specification with the order rules
Once the sample is approved, record its finished dimensions, weight and packing instruction version. If a substitute carton or new cushioning material is proposed, review the effect before it becomes a routine change.
The custom packaging service can include sample assembly and a documented packing brief. The selected shipping channel should be assessed against that finished pack. A trial confirms the agreed configuration; it does not establish a permanent freight price or eliminate product-specific packing review.
